Authentically crafted in Northern California.
Our approach in the cellar is open minded and often hands-off, allowing wines to develop distinct characteristics naturally and in very small lots. Before bottling, these individual wines are carefully blended, ultimately creating the uniquely nuanced wines that we are known for.
We source from veteran growers and off-the-beaten-path vineyards from Sonoma County, Mendocino County, Humboldt County and as far north as Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Almost half of our production comes from our estate vineyard, Grist, in the wilds of the western ridge above the Dry Creek Valley.
The 2016 vintage will introduce our first Kosher wine, made in partnership with Gabriel & Shimon Weiss of Shirah Wines in Santa Maria.
2016 also marks the introduction of our Vermouth products.
THE ALYSIAN CLUB
Our club provides a convenient way for you to secure our most limited release wines and receive new wines well before their general release by having them shipped directly to you. Club members also get a first look and first access to purchase new Alysian projects and collab offerings.
An email is sent a week before shipping describing what is included. Members can reply to the email to request specific varietals based on availability.
We offer clubs that ship quarterly or biannually and range from one case up to three cases per year with respective discounts applied. Club members receive 50% off shipping and your member discounts also apply to any purchase that you make even if it not a scheduled shipment.
Finally, as a member, you are welcome to private tasting free of charge and invitations to wine dinners we host regularly throughout the country.
Woody was born in a house in Anchorage, Alaska and shortly after moved to the Bay Area. Introduced to the wine business at a young age, his interests eventually led him to relocate from NYC to Healdsburg in 2010. In addition to making wines for Alysian Winery, Alysian Vermouth, and Floodgate Wine Co, he oversees grape growing at the Grist Vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley. When he is not at the winery you can find him working in his organic garden with his dogs, pigs and chickens. Or, chances are he is on his GS motorcycle in the wilds of the west coast, exploring far off the beaten path.
Teresa was born and raised amidst the vineyards and orchards of the Dry Creek Valley and was reared on immigrant stories of prohibition and adventure. She comes from a long line of Italian farmers and finds solutions to just about any problem we send her way. The proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, she has a deep passion for supporting our veterans. If she isn't working at the winery you can find her working on the family ranch in Geyserville with her son, Ezio.
Joe joined the team in 2016 as our co-winemaker. Fondly referred to as our very own Midwestern heartthrob Joe has worked in production, winemaking and viticulture at esteemed wineries like as Porter Creek and Flowers. In addition to co-winemaking with Woody, he heads up the management of our cellar and works the sales market in California and beyond. When he isn’t getting after it in the cellar or traveling you can find him hanging with his son, Elias.
Tina Hardison & Bryson Gill
Each Alysian label has a unique botanical illustration by Gill, symbolically referencing the wine, and is individually numbered to emphasize the true craft nature of our releases.
Our logo font is sourced from a Ben Franklin letterpress and serves as an expression of our pride being an American made product.
We support American manufacturing and local tradespeople wherever possible. Our glass bottles are produced in the United States whenever possible and the paper used for our labels is made by American paper miller, Neenah Paper, established in 1873. Supporting tradespeople locally we work with Vintage99 Label Manufacturing, a family owned business, to print all of our labels.
